“The Martian” is headed by Oscar winning actor Matt Damon. The movie starts out very intense, in 2016 on Mars and then it’s a mixture of funny and sad. At first you get a clip of the astronauts working on their equipment outside of their pod. There are bad storms on Mars creating an intense beginning. One of the astronauts gets lost in the storm (the main character) and his crew thinks he’s dead. The other astronauts have to leave before they all get killed too. The main character ends up getting stabbed and the bar from the equipment.

Throughout the whole movie he makes videos of himself and his plans. He has a certain amount of food to survive on. The amount of days you are up in space NASA calls sols. It would take his crew five years to get him back. So, he has to survive on what he has unless he figures out a way to grow food. On a planet where nothing grows.

The storyline is pretty believable because of the graphics and the way they made it look. The mountains from certain angles don’t really make it look realistic and do look fake. The whole movie is about Matt Damon’s character. The special effects are good but some of the scenery you can tell is fake. You could definitely feel the struggle that he has to go through. If you go see this movie you will most likely feel stressed out, but entertained.
