The McPherson High School football team started off the school year with a win against Salina South. They hope to continue their winning streak next Friday, September 14th at McPherson College. This will be their first home game of the year, going against Winfield. Their last game against this team ended with a score of 47-7 so the Bullpups hopes are high.

Last year, the MHS football team ended their season with a record of 11-1. As the season starts back up, they are constantly training. Their biggest competitor of their seasons has been Buhler however, last year they beat them with a score of 46-7. MHS will be facing them again on October 4th at 7:00pm. Freshman, Dawson Gotwald, said,”I feel it’s gonna be pretty close but I think we are going to win.”

Come support the new incoming freshman and Junior Varsity Monday, September 9th at McPherson college for their first game this season. The freshman play at 5 and JV play at 7 against Salina South. Sophomore, Ryan Leon, who plays on JV said, “ I feel pretty good about the game, we’ve been practicing our plays constantly and learning Salina defense and offence”
