The Seussical Musical; Presented by MHS

On February 14-16, McPherson High School presented the Seussical Musical.  Seussical in now one of the most performed shows in America presented by schools, local theaters and professional actors and actresses.

The Suessical Musical cast put on many performances for elementary students before their debut to the rest of the public and offered workshops to other students as well.The musical was adapted to younger audience from the Broadway version of Seussical. On February 12th and 13th the Musical cast spent most of their day performing and answering questions to the elementary students in McPherson.  

The show is based on the book called Horton Hears A Who by Dr.Seuss with other mentions from the books Horton Hatches The Egg, Oh, The Things You Can Think, The Cat In the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and many others by Dr.Seuss.  The Musical is about an elephant named Horton trying to save a small world on a speck of dust while facing difficulties brought on by other animals.

Horton, the lead character in the musical was played by Zach Wash, a Junior at MHS.  The other lead cast members included Drake Langshaw as Cat In The Hat, Lily Parker as Jojo, Kari Ellet as Gertrude McFuzz, Josie Strathman as Mayzie, Kaliah Tice as Sour Kangaroo, Alexa Allen as Young Kangaroo, Sean Gorman as Judge Yertle and Christopher Malaby as the Grinch.

Other cast members include Addie Fitzmorris, Riley Higgins, Merris Neighbors, Kolbi Partain, Analicia Rocha and Avery Strathman as Bird Girls; Noah Gregory, Pierce Hamma, Brycen Labertew and Christopher Malaby as the WickerSham Brothers; Kaleb Achilles, Sydney Achilles, Sophie Blevins, Anya Billings, Tessa Boesker, Kendall Brake, Ava Brunsell, Ella Dysinger, Sean Gorman, Logan Hardgrave, Jane Holmes, Paul Holmes, Olivia Inman, Lindy Reynolds, Madi Speirs, Terry Ta, Kierstan Trost and Hayden Treize as Jungle Citizens, Whos, Hunters, and Circus Crew.
