Devotion or Insanity?

Campaigning during elections can get hectic, and sometimes downright ridiculous. However, supporters can and do take it to the next level with all the creative outlets now available to us. You can drink from a mug with Barack Obama’s face on it, wear underwear with Bernie Sanders on the back, or even buy toilet paper with your least-favorite runner featured on each square. The newest trend to support a candidate though, seems pretty permanent for the slight chance of eight years in office.

A tattoo shop in New Hampshire, Clay Dragon, has been offering free tattoos, as long as it’s either in Donald Trump’s name, his face, or his campaign slogan. Bob Holmes, the owner of the shop, has booked over thirty appointments for the next two weeks of people requesting ink of Trump, and the number is bound to increase. So, what about the other candidates?

In retaliation to Clay Dragon’s free tattoos, another shop in Winooski, Vermont, Aartistic Tattoos, has begun to give free tattoos of an outline of Bernie Sanders to garner support and votes for the Democratic runner. Tyre Duvernay, the artist, got the decided to follow the trend as ‘Trump tattoos’ drove the internet wild.

There have been no free tattoos backing Hillary Clinton so far, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people sporting her face on various body parts. Whether it’s out of admiration or dedication, a simple google search will reveal all of the images done in Clinton’s resemblance.

This leaves one more popular competitor that doesn’t have any ink done in caricature of himself, though. Where are all of the Ben Carson tattoos, and are his followers going to follow this movement?
