This July I went to Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour in Kansas City at the T-Mobile center. I sat in the very top, very back seat. Specifically, section 232 row 16. My view was straight on and I got a perfect view of the stage.
The opener, PinkPantheress performed great. “The music was upbeat and the crowd was entertained,” is what concert attendee Erin Snook said about the opener.
Approximately 30 minutes after the opening act ended, the show started. The countdown was a projection of candles spelling out “GUTS” melting. When all of the candles melted, the stadium went black and the show’s intro began.
The overall show was just so amazing. The choreography was phenomenal, and the background films were amazing. Snook stated that “the audience was so engulfed in the moment.”
Rodrigo performed songs from both of her albums. For 2 songs, Rodrigo sat on a moon shaped prop and floated around the lower part of the stadium.
The star lights in the stadium lowered, which was just a mesmerizing sight to see. The entire stadium dimmed and the audience got into all their feels with the emotional songs being performed above them.
“The stadium was very spacious, and the music surrounding everything was just an amazing experience.” Said Snook.
In the second half of the concert, Rodrigo performed “Obsessed” which is one of my favorite songs of hers. I was quite ecstatic because the way this song is performed just has such a vibe, and everyone enjoyed it.
In all, I’d say that this concert was definitely worth it. If Olivia Rodrigo goes on tour again, I will be attending.
