Everyone sees the ads on TV showing off baby dolls or toy cars, but who is to say boys can’t have dolls and girls can’t have toy cars?

Gender doesn’t define our personal preference when it comes to what type of toys we would want to play with. Just because it’s a toy for one gender, that doesn’t necessarily mean the opposite gender wouldn’t want it.

When dinosaurs started being sold after the Jurassic Park movies, both genders would surely want it. The only issue is, females would be looked at strangely for wanting a “boy” toy. When in all reality, that doesn’t matter. If a boy wanted a Barbie doll or any other type of “girl” toy, I would fully accept that and let them get it.

If we didn’t get the choice of what gender we were going to be born as, we shouldn’t have to choose only one type of toy. All it’s doing is making the kids think that it’s not okay to have toys the other gender has. It’s stupid, and I think that kids should be able to play with whatever type of toys they want to. If it’s from something they love, or maybe an animal they like, they should be able to have it as a toy.

Criticizing children for their preference of what they like is awful. If they like it, let them like it. Teasing a kid for legitimately liking a specific brand or type of toy is idiotic. People shouldn’t be limited just because their physical form is different from the other.

One gender is not superior to the other, because we’re all stuck here on earth. We should all be able to show our individuality more, and be able to express ourselves as we wish. People would not only grow more confident, but they’d be happier as well. Less bullying would be seen, because it wouldn’t be seen as a “girl” toy.

When you go from boys to girls aisles, they’re basically two different countries. One violently coated with bright colors, while the other is darker and more “manly” colors. It’s so moronic to have colors defining genders. If a boy wants something with a popping color, so be it! Let him do as he wishes, and same goes for the girls.

When I was little, I’d always go to the boys’ isle because the items they offered were far better than what ours were. Sure, I played with Barbies, but there wasn’t going to be any reptile toys over there. Having stores be biased and separate everything by gender is completely out of their own dumb ignorance.

Children should be able to express themselves as whatever they want to be, and show off the real them that they are. Let sexism between not only toys, but jobs end as well. Who is to say dreams in life have to be gender restricted? Why can’t a girl want to be the best welder, or maybe a boy wants to be the best dancer.

If it’s one of their goals they want to pursue, let them do it! Watch as they excel at something that is “feminine” or “masculine.” I think that overall, if it’s something you truly care about, you should be allowed to do it.

If you want the toy that’s in the girls aisle, go get it! Don’t let peer judgement stop you, because who cares about what they think? If you like it, don’t let other people stop you in your tracks.
