First Look Into The Fall Activities

The fall sports preview took place on August 14th and it highlighted anyone in fall activities such as football, tennis, volleyball, and marching band. It showed a large variety of students and what activities they’re in. High schoolers and middle schoolers were there. A lot of people showed up to the event, parents and students. The parking lots and streets were filled with cars, showing just how many people actually showed up to the preview to support the McPherson Bullpups.

The band performed their pregame show. The three songs they play are Scotland the Brave, the National Anthem, and our high school song. The band only played two though and the elementary students sang the National Anthem. Cheerleaders showed off their cheers during the school song and the crowd cheered along with them. They also gave sneak peek into their show for this year called Chronometry.

Sports like tennis and football were featured in the preview as well. The football team had a scrimmage and when they were announced, the crowd went wild. Middle schoolers and high schoolers in tennis got their names read off as they were being recognized.

This year, the fall sports teams are very competitive. The school has gone from a 4A division to 5A. For band, this doesn’t mean a whole lot since they still go to the same competitions and festivals. It matters more to sports because it means the stakes will be higher and games will be even more competitive. It should make for an interesting school semester and year.
