The Tim Tebow Foundation (TTF) was established in 2010, helping those who are hurting, diminished, and trapped in darkness in 86 countries and counting.
Timothy Richard Tebow is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League for three seasons, primarily with the Denver Broncos.
According to Classy.org, “Tim Tebow was born in the Philippines to missionary parents and is best known as an American professional baseball player and former professional football player.”
The idea of this foundation came across Tebow’s mind when he was just 15 years old, serving in the jungles of the Philippines. In a remote village, Tebow met a boy named Sherwin, who was born with his feet on backward.
Tylee Wilson, a sophomore at McPherson High School, supports this foundation because “it’s helping people in need, and overall just giving back to the [world].”
Sherwin was seen as cursed, insignificant, and a throwaway. When Tebow met him, he had a feeling that God put it on his heart that Sherwin wasn’t a throwaway, but worthy of love and value.
“During his time there, Tim had the idea to direct his life towards fighting for vulnerable boys and girls just like Sherwin. He felt a calling to love and serve the most vulnerable people in the world,” remarked the TTF.
Wilson agrees with this statement because “it is a good [asset] to the world and it can only get better from here.” She believes that the impact TTF has is tremendous and truly astonishing by how big of a difference it has made.
“The foundation utilizes the public platform [in which] God has blessed Tim Tebow with to inspire and make a difference in people’s lives [worldwide],” said the TTF.
Partnering with other organizations in both the United States and other countries, the TTF is actively fighting against human trafficking and child exploitation in three different ways: Prevention, Rescue, and Survivor Care.
The latest global estimates reported in 2022 show that human trafficking has increased by nearly 10 million people in the last five years, according to the International Labour Organization.
Not only does TTF support anti-human trafficking, but this organization also provides help and support to orphan care and prevention, special needs ministry, and profound medical needs.
