9-11 Casualties

2,996 people died during the September 11th attacks. These deaths included 19 hijackers and 2,977 civilians.

More than 6,000 other people were injured during the attacks. 2,753 of the 2,977 people were in the surrounding area of The World Trade Center.  256 were on the plane, and 184 were near the Pentagon.

This attack remains the deadliest terrorist attack in world history.

Most of the victims were civilians except for the 343 firefighters.

The overall death number(2,996) rose when the surrounding dust particles ended up causing even more deaths. Doctors confirmed that 1,140 people who worked, lived, and studied in lower Manhattan ended up getting diagnosed with cancer from the toxins. Around 1,400 first responders also ended up passing away days or even months after the event.

These deaths will always be remembered along with the holes left in the lives of those who had family die in this attack.
