On Tuesday, April 18th, the Varsity softball team hosted their tournament here at Grant Sports Complex. In Game 1 of 2, the Bullpups won against Louisburg 16-6. Sophomore Addie Herrera pitched a great game and was named the winning pitcher. The Bullpups were very successful at the plate and both Haely Hageman and Cora Pavlovich hit home runs. In Game 2, they played a tough 6a, Derby team. The Varsity team lost 4-11. Coach Danica Fitzmorris told a MHS reporter “I knew this game would be tough to win, but I had faith in our hitting.” The Varsity softball team will travel to Augusta next Monday, April 24th, where they will play 2 games against the Orioles.
