McPherson High School announced the winter homecoming candidates on Tuesday, January 20.
The 2026 winter homecoming king candidates are: Charlie Barrow, Manny Morales, Caleb Muehler, and Jett Pyle. The queen candidates are: Gentry Aichele, Brooke Doile, Jasmyn Evans, and Ava Youngblood.
This winter, all the candidates are extremely grateful to be considered for the role of winter homecoming king and queen. “I’m super excited, I feel like this is super special,” Evans said.
“I really appreciate all the support,” said Muehler
The candidates wanted to share interesting facts about themselves.
Doile is involved in SAA International, STUCO, KAY, basketball, volleyball, and softball. “I did the math relays for a little bit, it’s really important to me,” Doile said.
The candidates shared what they wanted to be when they were younger compared ot now. The funniest one had to be from Aichele. “I wanted to be a Justin Bieber backup dancer, but now I want to be a nurse.”
Youngblood said her favorite McPherson tradition was, “The May Day parade is definitely my favorite, because that’s when you get to see everyone you know.”
Each candidate had some advice for their underclassmen, Barrow stated, “don’t procrastinate and don’t take time for granted.”
All of the candidates agreed that their favorite smell was vanilla, but some, like Morales, stood out with the answer of spearmint and eucalyptus.
Pyle was unavailable to do an interview due to his playing in the basketball tournament. We can’t wait to see who wins king and queen! This Winter Homecoming is February 14. Come and enjoy it with your friends, and make sure to vote!
