Wicked: For Good, the second act of the fan favorite movie that came out in 2024, came out on November 21, 2025. It has mixed reviews as of now, a bit of a fallback from the first installment.
The pace is a big part that stands out. In some areas, it’s as if they’re rushing it through. But in others, it seems slow and boring. The pacing is just very odd, ill-conceived, and a complaint that a lot of people had.
There were a couple of plot holes that were never explained. This could simply be due to the weird pace it had. Writers may have forgotten a couple of things, or they just simply didn’t have enough time.
They don’t spend enough time on certain aspects. Especially bigger reveals or plot points. Again, it’s probably because of the pace. A lot of people, including me, wish they had spent more time when it came to the revelation of the Wizard and Elphaba, and around Nessa and her transformation.
There are some good aspects. The transformation of Boq into the Tin Man was amazing; the visual effects were great. The chemistry continues for Elphaba and Glinda, which is a fan favorite.
It was a mixed bag, and it changed frequently throughout the movie. Between plot holes and pace, it just really burdened the movie. The good qualities didn’t really redeem it.
Overall, the movie did not exactly live up to the first one. But it was still mostly enjoyable, at least for most people who watched it.
You can see Wicked: For Good at most theatres in America. I would recommend it, but barely. It really depends on how big a Wicked fan you are. But if you watched and liked the first one, I would recommend watching this one as well. It provides a nice conclusion.
