The Olympic Games are always a big deal. An Olympic medal is a dream for every athlete, it’s the most prestigious of a sporting career. At the Olympics you can find so many sports, from team sports to individual events. There is something for everyone.

Volleyball was introduced in the Olympic Games in 1964, and since then it has been one of the most popular team sports. Next year, Paris will be the theater for all the battles to gain the most precious medal.

Paris 2024 is almost here and every volleyball team wants to have the possibility to win. Although, only 12 teams can participate at the most important tournament of an athlete’s career.

The qualifications for the women’s teams just ended a couple of days ago. The men’s qualifications will be from Saturday, September 30 through Sunday, October 8.

Qualifications for the Olympic Games are like small tournaments, where there will be winners and losers. Twenty-four nations participated in the qualifying games and they were divided into three pools of eight. The teams that placed first and second will have the quota spots for Paris 2024.

The Dominican Republic, Serbia, Turkey, Brazil, United States and Poland are sure to participate. France has an automatic qualification because it’s the host country. The ranking rule is applied to decide the other teams.

According to the official website of the Olympic Games, “The five remaining Olympic places will be decided using the FIVB rankings in June 2024, prioritizing countries from continents that do not yet have qualified teams in the Olympic tournament.”

This is a little bit different from the qualification for Tokyo 2020 because there were six qualification tournaments and the remaining spots were defined by continental competitions. The road to Paris 2024 has officially begun!
