21 years since 9/11

On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever. Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in Now York City. Those 2 planes had been hijacked. The first plane crashed into the North Tower, hitting the 80th floor in a 110- story building. Soon after, about 18 minutes, the second plane hit the South Tower burning a hole in the 60th floor leaving thousands of people stuck. While all of this was happening there were 2 more plane crashes that day. The 3rd plane hitting the Pentagon right outside of Washington DC. The 4th plane went down in Pennsylvania.

The Islamic extremist organization, Al Qaeda, had 19 of its members hijack 4 aircrafts. They used them in suicide assaults in America.

My mom, Alisha Plenert, was a sophomore here at MHS when this happened. She said “I remember my German class going across the hall to Mrs. Heidebrechts Spanish class to watch the news coverage of 9/11. We were all crying and the teachers kept saying this is big history today, pay attention and remember this! It was so heartbreaking. It felt like the world was going to end that day.”
