Students working with internet problems

It is that time of year again, finals, winter break, and apparently problems with the internet. Not only last year did the McPherson High School have internet problems right around the last few weeks before winter break, but again this year it’s acting up again. In many classes teachers and their students have been having issues of connecting to the internet and working on projects or papers. For the teachers who are having troubles they have been getting frustrated and flashbacks of last year when a lot of classes didn’t take their finals due to internet issues.

Mrs. Swanson is one of the many teachers who have been having connection problems as of recent, and is also a teacher who has students needing to use the internet for end of the year papers. Many emails have been sent out by various teachers and one of the problems with students not being able to connect is that the chromebooks being used will try to connect to the last classroom the student was connected with. The main person who has been working on fixing the internet is Andrew Seehafer.

With the reoccuring problems makes it obvious how much we rely on the internet for a lot in our lives. Which can be a good thing, but can be very bad because when problems like this happen we have no real backup plan due to the thought that the internet would be working that day. Not only has this year proven that we depend on the internet, but last year as well. It has been an obvious problem before, yet we try it again and once again it has came up short. It’s even worse because both times have been during finals week when it is most important to have internet and to be able to take the tests.
