Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story is a new Hallmark movie that has reached the internet. The main actresses are Hunter King and Tyler Haynes, who star as the two love birds in the film. The film takes place in the Kansas City area and was filmed during July. After watching the movie, it proved to be just as good as the hype.
This new Hallmark movie showcased the importance of tradition in the Christmas season. The film was centered around the annual Christmas Eve football game. It captured the community’s sense of tradition and connection with the people in that town. I liked how throughout the movie, it displayed Kansas City’s love for the game and their love for Christmas.
Andi Pelnar, a frequent Hallmark watcher and fan of the movie, praises the writers: “ I thought the writers did a great job of integrating the traditions along with all of the things we crazy superstitious people do for our beloved team.”
The movie’s storyline was very interesting. Some parts, although they built the movie, felt almost unnecessary. Contrasting that, I also think some of the scenes felt magical and embraced the meaning of this film. The plot of the movie attracts most of us from Kansas because of the plot based around the Chiefs and that felt like home to many of us.
“I thought it was a very classical Hallmark storyline, there is a problem and a solution and of course romance with a happy ending,” said a new Hallmark fan, Mallorie Cooper. The familiar Hallmark structure, while sometimes lacking surprises, provides a comforting and heartening viewing experience, leaving audiences with a sense of warmth and contentment.
Out of everything this movie had to offer, my favorite thing was the fact they incorporated fan favorites of Kansas City. Adding people who are known and notable not only attracts an audience but also makes the movie feel more close to home. Seeing similar faces kept me engaged and attentive to the point of the movie.
When asked what Pelnar expected out of the movie she states, “I did not actually expect to see Mrs. Kelce and Andy Reid. This movie exceeded my expectations.” As well as many others, I loved this movie and would so highly recommend all of us Chief fans to watch Holiday Touchdown.
