Red One is a new Christmas movie released in theaters on November 15, 2024. Chris Evans and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were an excellent duo in the movie. The writers put a fun spin on the story by having a weightlifting Santa Claus get kidnapped for his power. My personal favorite character was Callum Drift, played by Johnson. He’s serious and a bit out of touch with the normal, outside world, and that makes for great comedy. 

      Junior Gabriele Rush also agrees with this opinion about Johnson’s character. Here’s what she had to say; “The Rock, simply because his character is just so funny.”

      Johnson plays a lot of fan favorites in the movies he acts in. The plot of the movie is funny and I really enjoyed watching it! The beginning is a bit confusing, but if you stick with it, it starts to make more sense. The movie even features Krampus, played by Kristofer Hivju. Krampus is Santa’s adopted brother, banished from the North Pole for creating the naughty and nice list to punish naughty children and reward good children. Krampus is the main antagonist’s ex-boyfriend.

    The main antagonist is Grýla, played by Kiernan Shipka. She is the Winter Witch, and very powerful. Her character comes from the Norse myth of a towering ogre who placed children in a sack much like Santa’s toy sack and she’d put them in a stew and eat them. She has many sons to do her bidding.

    Red One is an excellent movie and I highly recommend watching it!
