High Life Staff interviewed student athlete Cody Stufflebean about the challenges and benefits of being an athlete.

 

What is your favorite sport?

 

Football

 

What do you find most challenging about High School?

Being able to balance school work with athletics

What do you find most challenging about High School sports?

Not having much free time

What’s the best/worst thing to happen since you started high school sports ?

The best is getting a scholarship to play for a D1 school. The worst is not having any free time.

If you could change one thing about McPherson sports/the high school in general, what would it be?

I would add more school facilities such as an indoor turf practice facility that all activities could use.

What do you wish other people knew about you?

I can solve a 3×3 rubik’s cube.

What would you say are some of your strongest beliefs about sports?

That it helps kids become better young adults and that it teaches you lessons about life.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

That I have a 4.5 GPA.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining a high school sport?

That you most definitely should because it teaches you more responsibility and it’s great to be a part of something.

How would someone describe you?

I am big, intelligent, humble, don’t show emotions.

How would you describe yourself?

I am intelligent, humble, caring.

What do you do when you aren’t at school or playing sports?

I enjoy time with my girlfriend, going to the lake, hunting, spending time with my family.
