Do you think school funding is too focused on sports?
September 4, 2018
I do not. Activity programs generate their own funds, that’s how it’s funded, or the majority of it.
— Mr. Backhus
Oh absolutely not. Sports pretty much fund all their own, they do their own fundraising. Soccer doesn’t need stuff, you got a ball and a field and that’s it.
— Mr. Gerstner
No, I don’t think they spend so much money on sports, like hi steppers- they don’t fund for us.
— Matie Anderson
As a football player and a wrestler it varies between the sport you play. It feels like it is angled more toward the basketball and football players, but you can definitely tell a lot of school funding goes towards the teachers. During the summer they had teaching camps that improved our school, which does help.

It’s not all about sports all the time; we’re here to learn, not to play sports. They should minimize funding, sports is a choice or a reward for you having good grades. Not everyone plays sports. Art actually helps people with anxiety and depression.

Yes, because I don’t go to games or anything, it doesn’t have anything to do with me.
