Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipes

Valentine’s Day is a holiday known for its bright colors, sweet treats, and spreading love. Over the years I have seen many cool and easy desserts that would be perfect for this day. There are a variety of different treats you can make and customize yourself to make the occasion special for you, or a special someone. Here are some easy and yummy recipes you can make to get yourself in the spirit of the holiday of love.

 

Valentine’s Day Popcorn

What You Will Need :

  • 1 bag of microwave popcorn, light or regular butter
  • 3/4 cup pink chocolate candy melts
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate candy melts
  • Valentines sprinkles
  • Valentines Peanut M&Ms

How To :

  1. Pop the popcorn and remove the unpopped kernels.
  2. Place the candy melts in small bowls,one for each color.
  3. Microwave the pink candy for 40 seconds then stir, repeat in 20 second time sets until melted.
  4. Drizzle half over of the bowl of popcorn and toss to coat, Add the remaining pink chocolate candy melt. Toss the popcorn with your hands until nicely coated. Then spread out onto a large serving platter.
  5. Melt the white candy melts and drizzle over the platter of popcorn, immediately top generously with candy sprinkles. They will adhere to the melted white chocolate candy.
  6. Finally, toss on the M&Ms. Allow the Valentines Popcorn to cool a few minutes before serving.

 

Sugar Heart Cookies

What You Will Need :

  • Sugar cookie dough
  • Buttercream frosting (or any frosting of your choice).
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Heart shaped cookie cutter
  • Red and pink food coloring

How To :

  1. Prepare sugar cookie dough and roll out on a flat surface.
  2. Cut out cookies using cookie cutter.
  3. Bake in 350 degree oven for 5-6 minutes (this depends on how thin or thick you rolled flattened your dough). Check cookies at 4 minute mark. You will know the cookies are down when they are slightly golden brown.
  4. Allow cookies to cool.
  5. Pour three batches of buttercream frosting into three separate bowls. Red, White, and Pink.
  6. Frost your cookies.
  7. Sprinkle with your choice of topping and enjoy!

 

Chocolate Dipped Rice Crispy Treats

What You Will Need :

  • 8 rice crispy bars (or however many you need).
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (or milk) candy melts
  • ¼ cup pink candy melts
  • Sprinkle or toppings of choice.
  • Decorative paper straws.

How To :

  1. Press straws ¾ of the way into the rice crispy treat.
  2. In microwave safe bowl melt chocolate candy in 30 second intervals.
  3. After melted dip half of the rice treat into the chocolate. Clean off excess chocolate.
  4. Firmly press the treat into a bowl of sprinkles.
  5. Melt pink candy melts and drizzle over the top of the chocolate.
  6. Repeat on other side and enjoy. 

 

Layered Strawberry Jello Cups

What You Will Need :

  • 5 packages strawberry jello mix
  • Water
  • 2 cups cool whip, plus extra topping
  • Fresh strawberries

How To :

  1. Make strawberry jello mix, make first layer and refrigerate for two hours.
  2. Make second batch of jello mix, along with one cup of cool whip and mix together stack second layer and let sit in fridge for 1-2 hours.
  3. Combine one cup strawberry jello mix refrigerate until set.
  4. Combine one cup strawberry jello mix and one cup whipped cream. Refrigerate 1-2 hours
  5. Then combine one cup of strawberry jello mix and let sit in refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  6. Lastly, top with cool whip and fresh strawberry.

 

Valentine’s Day Bark

What You’ll Need :

  • 8 oz. White candy melts.
  • 8 oz. Pink candy melts.
  • 1 pkg red drizzle pouch.
  • ½ cup conversation hearts.
  • ½ cup Valentine’s Day M&M candies.
  • Mini heart sprinkles (optional).

How To :

  1. Melt the white and pink chocolate according to package directions and pour it onto a parchment baking sheet. Swirl around with a knife.
  2. Sprinkle candies and hearts all throughout the melted chocolate.
  3. Melt the drizzle pouch and drizzle all over the chocolate.
  4. Let the chocolate bark sit for 30 minutes, once hardened break into small pieces and serve.
