High School Governor

On October 17 of 2017 in Wichita, Kansas four high school students applied to run for Kansas Governor.  It seems crazy that kids so young are interested in taking part of a big role for our state. Usually in this day and age people wouldn’t think of putting a highschool student in so much power over something.  There is many different opinions that many different people have. I asked McPherson High School studentsif they were to ever consider a job like this. Here are some of their responses.

“No I would not consider this, because high school is very stressful as it it and to be governor on top of that would be difficult,” said Taylor Bruce, sophomore.

“No. I wouldn’t consider it. I think it’s not a good idea for highschool students who are still maturing to be running something so professional,” said Cali Dykes, sophomore.

“No, knowing that some immature kid can ruin and make a lot of decisions that probably aren’t okay for our state isn’t something I see as a good thing,” said Ally Soukup, sophomore.

“Yes I would consider it a lot. I think it’d be fun to work with something so professional like that as such a young age, “said Anonymous.
