Working for Yourself
November 6, 2017
Mattea Black, a MHS student has not only found something she is passionate about, but has gone into business for herself all the while balancing her schoolwork and social life. Not only has she gone into her own business, Mattea created her website to share the many beautiful photos she has taken. On her website there are several listings on prices for a variety of shoots, from engagement to senior photos. Mattea Black said, “I think that if you find something that you are really passionate about and use it to benefit others (and maybe make a few bucks for yourself), it is totally worth it!”
Overall the clients Mattea have worked with are supportive of her decision to go into business for herself as well as keep her school and life balanced. Senior Cole Hanson said, “I think the fact that Mattea has her own successful business as a high schooler is a testament to her character and creativity. She is a courteous and respectful person, and it shows in her work. My photo shoot went well, and it was very easy to work and communicate with her….she has a talent for both taking pictures and working with a client.”
On top of it all they had a great experience with their photoshoot. Another one of her clients, Goodland High School senior Sara Amend said, “I think it is quite impressive to balance senior year and your own business. She’s very professional, but she also makes it very personal when she takes pictures. Mattea is very nice and takes great pictures. I had an amazing time!”
