League Dual
This year has been terrific for the Mac Bullpups wrestling team. They only have 2 losses as a dual team, Colby High School and Lexington High School. The team has made great strides, working as a whole. 53 people came out for wrestling this year, a record high for the pups. “Our team has come for and is a force to stop. We have many amazing team members ready to step up at any time to make us better as a team and as a whole” said Donovan Bailey, junior. This has created a competitive environment and dominant team. There are a few wrestlers who stand out: Austin Eldredge, Rhett Edmondson, Scott Radke, and Bailey Yarborough all have 17 or more wins.
With only 2 losses on the season, the wrestling team is undefeated in league. In the league is Buhler, El Dorado, Circle, Augusta, and Winfield. Mac has defeated Buhler, Circle, and El Dorado this year. Only 2 teams remain in Mac’s path. “I feel like our team is really dedicated and are willing to put in the work and sacrifice that it takes to succeed” said Colten Eldredge, freshman. The varsity team is ready and prepared to take on whoever steps on the mat. They are “On A Mission.”
Update: Thursday, January 26, the Pup’s wrestled against Augusta. This was the main focus in the practice room. The dual started off with Rhett Edmondson at 106 lbs and ended with Alex Grennan at 285 lbs. Bailey Yarborough clinched the win for Mac with a pin in the first period at 195 lbs. But, it was truly a team effort.
