At a special board of education meeting November 17, superintendent Mark Crawford submitted his resignation. Crawford was with McPherson schools for two years. Starting November 23, Gordon Mohn will be serving as the interim superintendent.
“All board decisions must be made by the board as a whole and at a public board meeting,” says Gordon Mohn. Board meetings are open to the public. After the first of the year the board will be meeting more regularly, the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Central Office, each starting at 7:00.
In regard to finding a new superintendent Mohn says “Over the next several months, the board will decide what they want to do in the future.
Monday, December 12, 2016 at noon the McPherson Board of Education had a meeting at the McPherson Museum where the plan for the new superintendent was discussed. For right now Gordon Mohn will remain as the interim superintendent until a new one is found. In January, they will start the hiring process.
At the meeting many things were discussed by the superintendent including looping at Roosevelt, C3 meetings and other teacher/school related items.
