Mac Executes Another Blowout Win

Friday, September 23, McPherson Bullpups upset 7th Ranked Augusta in a 42-0 win. The Augusta Orioles were a tough team; Mac knew this and were expecting a close match. Augusta was undefeated until they ran into a brick wall, a.k.a. Mac.

Augusta started the game on offense against Mac’s aggressive defense. The Orioles are named the best offense, but failed to convert any big plays. Pushed to their own end zone Mac’s defense was solid. 4th and long, Orioles attempted a screen play ,but Caleb Spaich ,#80, intercepted the ball for about a 15 yard pick six. Later in the 1st half, Casen connected to Jeffry Reed for a 40 yard touchdown.

There were many other touchdowns that lead to Mac’s 42-0 win ,but some commendable defensive players were Wyatt Seidl, Michael Mendez, and Gunnar Reiss. Wyatt was aggressive the whole game, despite multiple fouls. Michael stepped up to fill a hard position and dominated the trenches. Lastly, Gunnar Reiss had a few show stopper hits that made the crowd Roar.

All in all, Mac is on a path to the State Championship. “Goose egg”, this is what the team chanted. It means a 0 for the other team on the scoreboard.
