TikTok sensation and former Hype House member Noah Beck, 23, began his surprising acting career by starring in his first film, Sidelined: The QB and Me.
The Tubi original debuted on November 24, 2024. With a 6.3/10 rating on IMDb while only being out for a week, Sidelined is making its way to the top.
Freshman at McPherson High School, Karlie Cooper has watched this new movie. Cooper says “I really liked it, although in the beginning I was cringed a little but at the end it was really good.”
I too watched this movie and i’ve got to say it was indeed pretty good. I had seen this movie being advertised on multiple social media platforms which ultimately led me to watch the movie.
Before watching Sidelined, my thoughts and opinions on it were mixed. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be good, bad, cringy, funny, etc. considering Beck would be starring in it.
According to IMDb Sidelined is described as “A headstrong dancer and a cocky quarterback fight against their feelings for each other as their post-grad future threatens to keep them apart.”
Main character Dallas Bryan, a senior in highschool claims multiple times in the beginning of the movie that she wants to focus on school and dance, and eventually get into her dream dance school where her mother went. Bryan’s focused mindset untimely got shifted once she met her fellow classmate Drayton Lahey.
The two’s “friendship” took a turn on the night they both decided to go to a local party. The night ended with an intoxicated Bryan being picked up by Lahey and taken to his house, where she eventually fell asleep on his couch. After that night Bryan realized she might have been wrong about the cocky quarterback.
From then on, Bryan and Lahey were inseparable and would spend every minute together. Until senior year was coming to an end and college was approaching. CalArts was Bryan’s dream school across the country, as for Lahey, the feeling of pressure from his father to go to a family tradition college had his brain scrambled.
