Halloween is for teens

As you all know the spooky season is coming up. With that being said there is a controversial opinion every year if teenagers should be allowed to trick or treat. I think they should and here’s why.

Halloween is a tradition and a holiday. For most people, it holds good memories about their past fun. It’s also a good holiday to spend with your friends and family.

Some states even restrict the age of going trick or treating.  According to Baltmore Sun in some towns in Maryland, the age limit is 12 and under. In Virginia Chesapeake, there’s a law that bans trick or treating if they are not 12 and under said Yahoo Finance.

Sometimes when teenagers go trick or treating the adults won’t give them candy or they’ll say they’re too old to do so. I personally think that shouldn’t happen. We should be allowed to participate because we could be doing things that are way worse.

I decided to ask another teenager for their opinion. Sophomore, Camryn Regier agrees with me. “We could be partying and bullying little kids.” Regier also stated, “People who don’t give us candy are just jealous that we can go trick or treating and they can’t.”

At the end of the day, teenagers just want to have fun. We just want to hold on to the happy memories we have for a little while longer. Plus everyone loves candy!

Are you going trick or treating this year?
