Moon Over Buffalo
November 29, 2017
The McPherson High School has always been known for putting on wonderful plays and musicals so this year is no exception. By preparing Moon Over Buffalo it offers another opportunity for the MHS theater to perform at The Kansas Thespian Festival for the 2017-2018 year. The theater department did not go to state during the 2016-2017 school year, but they are excited and prepared for this year.
The Kansas Thespian State festival is held from January 4-6 2018 at the Century II in Wichita, Kansas. Moon Over Buffalo is just one of the several shows that the MHS theater department will be putting on.
This show the cast is more prepared and excited than ever before, they have their lines memorized and are ready for their show. Rachel Janzen, junior, says “We’ve practiced for two and a half months and we’ve never been more ready. Last year not everyone had their lines memorized the week of the show. Since we didn’t go to state last year we’re trying even harder to go this year. I can honestly say I’ve never been more excited and confident about a performance I’ve been in. I think it’s truly going to be a great show.”
Saturday November 17, 2017 was the sub state performance, where state theater adjudicators came to the show to determine the theater’s eligibility for state and critique their performance. Results for their invitation to Century II for state is still to be announced.
