Michael Oher’s story is an unusual and sad one, but with a happy ending. The movie “The Blind Side” is based on not only a book but a true story, and is about a boy named Michael Oher. Oher lived in the projects and bounced from foster care to foster care, his mother an addict and his father out of the picture. Oher had a rough childhood and early teen years. That is until the Tuohy family came along. They entered Oher’s live and changed it, they gave him a home and a family. He went on to play football for Ole Miss, which was Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy’s college. Along with Collins, who like her mother, was a cheerleader for Ole Miss. Sean Tuohy played basketball, as did Oher. Oher now plays for the Carolina Panthers.

    This is a great film for everyone to see, not only because it shows perspective, but because it shows how much worse we could have it. How much worse off everyone could be, seeing and hearing Michael’s story makes you realize how much we all take for granted in this live, especially our family. It also shows how if the Tuohys didn’t enter his life, then he would’ve continued down his path of gangs and gang violence. His amazing talents, his kindness, and his instinct to protect would all be lost.

    This movie is great for a family night at home, sitting around the tv with the ones you love, watching a heartfelt and inspiring movie about Michael Oher and the rest of the Tuohy Family.
