Hey McPherson Bullpups!
I wanted to tell you about one of our amazing clubs at McPherson High School, FCA! It stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and even though it sounds like it’s only for athletes, it’s actually for everyone, not just athletes.
FCA usually meets once a week (normally in the morning before school), and it’s honestly such a great way to start the day. There’s always some donuts or snacks and a short message, devotional, or fun activity that helps us grow in our faith and friendships. Sometimes students lead the talks, and other times they have guest speakers like coaches, youth pastors, or teachers who share encouraging words and stories.
One of the best parts about FCA is the people. Everyone is really welcoming and kind, and it’s cool to hang out with people who are also trying to live out their faith at school. You don’t have to have everything figured out, and nobody expects you to be perfect. It’s just a place where you can be real and connect with others who care.
Even if you’re not super religious or haven’t been to church in a while, that’s totally okay. FCA is a safe and fun space to ask questions, make friends, and hear about how faith can make a difference in everyday life even in sports, school, and all the ups and downs we go through as teens.
I spoke to a new member of FCA Ella Wyssmann, Wyssmann said ¨i joined FCA so i can continue showing faith and meeting new people and so i can get closer to God with my friends!¨ Wyssmann also said ¨I hope we can meet at the pole more because that was a good opportunity for me to show faith eat snacks and start my day off with a good message!¨
I spoke to Allison Randa, a member of FCA last year she is now a Sophomore Randa said “I really enjoyed Fields of Faith last year. The atmosphere was so welcoming and uplifting, and it was inspiring to be surrounded by so many positive people.”
