Are you looking for an easy holiday snack? Christmas crack is a must-try for those who love crunchy sweet treats!
As the fall season starts fading away and the winter season makes its way in, millions of people around the world begin all their seasonal traditions. Including house decorating, going to look at Christmas lights, and making all their favorite festive snacks and meals.
One festive snack that has the perfect ratio of crunchy to sweet, has soft pecans, crunchy cinnamon chex and smoothe brown sugar glaze, is a little something called Christmas Crack.
If hearing how delicious these ingredients sound inspire you to follow this recipe. Be sure to share it with your family and friends so they can try it too.
When attempting to make this festive delicacy all you will need is butter, brown sugar, light corn syrup, pecans, cinnamon chex cereal, and golden grahams cereal.
Jamie Lulloff, the creator of this recipe states that the name “Christmas Crack” had originated from her step mother Carol Zerger. “It’s so addictive and It’s crunchy so it cracks when you eat it.”
In the months Nov-Jan, Lulloff uses this recipe multiple times.
The origin of this crunchy treat dates back to the childhood of Lulloff herself. She claims “I first tried christmas crack at my parents house and I loved it, so I asked for the recipe and added some of my own alterations.”
When it comes to actually making Christmas Crack, the process is fairly simple. Just be sure not to burn the corn syrup!
The trial and error process is one very important process to make your recipe just the way you want it.
Lulloff exclaims in great detail about her first trial and error while attempting to make Christmas Crack “During my first time making christmas crack I had run into an issue with proportions or servings. My family loved it so much so I definitely had to experiment with the amounts of ingredients I needed to make a big enough batch”
Due to the recent inflation, the price of everyday items have gone up drastically, but that isn’t a problem if you are trying to make Christmas Crack.
Lulloff states that it would only cost around $20-25 for about 4 gallons of Christmas Crack.
The original recipe, created by Zerger, had been altered ever so slightly. The original cereal had been replaced with cinnamon chex or cinnamon toast crunch or even honey nut chex, as well as some vanilla extract.
Due to all the allergies people have all over the world, including nut allergies. Lulloff claims “ With all the pecans in this recipe, they can easily be removed and still be just as delicious”
Although Christmas Crack isn’t a main dish to be served along with sides. It is still delectable to have just on its own as a quick midday snack during a cold winter day.
