On Wednesday, April 19th, the band traveled to Smoky Valley High School to perform music in front of judges. The band was split into two different groups, the wind ensemble and the concert band. The wind ensemble performs more complicated pieces which were “Candide Suite” and “Lux Aurumque.” The concert band performed two pieces one called “Shimmering Joy” and “Bluegrass Moments.” Both bands’ performances were good and they got a 1 rating from the judges. A 1 rating is the best rating you can get and a 5 is the worst. The choir and orchestra also performed, and they both got 1 ratings as well.  Congratulations to our band and choir students!
