On Wednesday April 19th, 2023 Smokey Valley High School held the large state group contest. We had all choirs compete on Wednesday morning: Concert Choir, Bell Canto, and Mixed Ensemble. The Concert Choir is made up of men and women. They performed 2 songs. Bell Canto and Mixed Ensembles girls sang two songs together, The Gift To Sing and What Happens When a Woman. Then, Mixed Ensemble performed three songs that the judges picked: Pilgrims Hymn, Hear My Prayer, and Joshua. All choirs received a 1 rating for performing!!!! A 1 is a superior rating which is the best rating there is! That automatically won all of the choirs a plaque with the school’s name on it!!! Overall it was a great great day to be a Bullpup!! To all that completed congrats!!! McPherson High School choirs will be performing again on April 29th, 2023 at the KSHSAA State Solo & Small Ensembles. We wish them luck next Saturday!
