We all remember going to sleep before St. Patrick’s Day, and our family telling us to make sure we wear green the next day so we do not get pinched. But what is the story about getting pinched if you do not wear green? 

Why the color is green is because Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle going with the color green, and also the green stripe in the Irish flag. Plus we can’t mention St. Patrick’s day without leprechauns; the reason they would pinch you is that they thought you were disrespecting them by not wearing their favorite color, green.
