21 Years Ago in New York City

September 11th, 2001 shocked many people around the United States with the four terrorist attacks that ended in the death of 2,977 people in 3 different locations.

21 years ago at 8:45 a.m. two planes hijacked by terrorists from al-Qaeda crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center, also known as the Twin Towers, killing around 2,753 people.

This event affected many communities and people by covering people and things in dust, debris and turning parks into gathering points for people to support each other and share stories.

Even though the fall of the towers killed many people, the toxic dust that came with it also did a lot of damage to the people, even if it did not affect people right away it would later affect the people, just like Marcy Borders who got covered and later developed stomach cancer which was believed to be because of the toxic dust. Another side effect of the dust cloud was families being separated causing worried families to put up missing posters hoping to find their loved ones lost in the dust.

Even after 21 years, this event will continue to be remembered, along with all the lives that were lost and affected by these attacks.
