Movies in The ParkConcerts for Cause

We’re all excited that school is coming to an end…for now. After a while, summer can be pretty boring. Here are a few events you can go to for some extra fun this summer.

The (CVB) McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau has planned movies in the park all throughout the summer, the first one in May, and the last one in August. All of the dates are Saturdays at the Lakeside Park Bandshell.  Movies playing there throughout the summer include Max, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Martian, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Minions, and The Good Dinosaur. Each movie is sponsored by different groups or companies, including Hutton Construction, Nex-Tech Wireless, Disability Supports of the Great Plains, McPherson News, Home-State Bank, and Rep. Les Mason and Senator Rick Wilborn. Be sure to check included pictures for dates!

The CVB also plans to have a fireworks display set up at Wall Park on the 4th of July. There will be free ice cream for everyone and the band Petty Cash is playing. Stop by for some ice cream and music, or come by later to see the fireworks.

Another event planned by the CVB are the concerts for a cause at Hopp’s Sound. These will be held in June, July, and August. Each concert is put on by different groups, including Circles of McPherson, Girls Scouts, McPherson Hospital Volunteer Services, McPherson County 4-H, Relay For Life, McPherson County Ulster Project, and more. Any donations go to non-profit organizations. All concerts start at 7:00 PM so be there or be square, and don’t forget to check the included picture for concert dates!
