Most Anticipated Movies of 2016

With 2016 underway I have decided to write about the most anticipated movies of this year. Some I have already done reviews on from what I’ve seen of their trailers. The others will have to wait until their trailers come out. This year is also a good time for new movies to come out and for good sequels to come out. As always it excites many movie lovers when they see some old classics returning for a modern reboot, so without further adieu, let’s get on with it.

  1. Batman vs Superman. Now yes I did rant on this movie a bit in my review of it but this is still the most anticipated movie of 2016 and will remain that way until it either comes out or another great movie comes along.
  2. DeadPool. This is the origin story of the Anti Hero known as Deadpool. He was first Wade Wilson who was a mercenary for the government until he was experimented on. As most of you know with hero origin stories one thing lead to another, and boom! The smart aleck and wise guy we know as Deadpool was born
  3. Independence Day: Resurgence. This movie if you couldn’t tell from the title is the long awaited sequel to the original Independence Day. But this time the aliens are back with even better gadgetry to wipe us all out. Will they succeed? Who knows.
  4. Captain America: Civil War. Now this one is kind of an Avengers movie. But instead of the heroes teaming up to fight the villain this is more about heroes fighting one another. It’s an all out brawl between some of the greatest superheroes but only one side can win.
  5. Kung Fu Panda 3. The third film in this beloved children’s animated movie series stars Po the Kung Fu master. The story goes that he meets his father and travels to a panda paradise where he has to train the silly pandas to help him beat the new bad guy in town.
  6. Assassin’s Creed. The long awaited movie version of this well-beloved game has finally arrived. It takes place in 15th century Spain and it shows the mysterious society of the Assassin’s taking on the Knights of Templar in an amazing story and plot.
  7. Finding Dory. Ahhh finally, this long awaited sequel has arrived. This is an addition to the beloved kids movie, but this time they will be looking for Dory and this movie takes place closer to home this time. It takes place off the California coast so expect a lot of new faces.
  8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. This sequel to the bad film by director Michael Bay is surprisingly high up on this list of most anticipated movies. Which is sad considering how many other better films are out there but hey I’m sticking to my sources
  9. X-Men: Apocalypse. Although this movie series has been dragged out over many movies it has a new addition which still gets people excited so they must be doing something right.
  10. The Divergent Series: Allegiant. Man where to begin on this bad film. I have personally read the Divergent series and I know the movies don’t really follow the books sometimes but they at least try. This one on the other hand is so bad at following the original work that I’m surprised they even have the general idea of the plot in the movie. I don’t even need to see it because I already know it’s bad

Those were the most anticipated for this year. Some of these films didn’t surprise me that they were there and others made me question what some of these people were thinking. Whether you have an opinion or not on these movies is up to you. But these are the top ten most anticipated movies for this year. Let’s hope that they are as good as people are expecting them to be.
