The McPherson High Schools Girls Swimming team had a successful day on Friday, April 14th, at the Emporia swim meet. The team placed 1st with 553.5 points overall, beating Topeka High School by 42 points.

Many of our swimmers placed 1st in their events including the 200 medley relay with Maggie Leaf, Amanda Starkel, Megan Cutting, and Cassie Cooks. While some of our swimmers may not have all placed 1st there were still some that had outstanding personal bests. Claire Wiens, a senior, at MHS dropped a superb 12 seconds on the 200 IM, and Jensen Merkiewicz went from a 7:29.75 to 7:13.47 dropping 15 seconds on the 500 free.

Come support your McPherson High School Girls Swimmers on May 2 in Hutchinson at the local YMCA.
