Cross Country Gets Ready to Host Mac Invite

The boys and girls McPherson High School cross country team are ready to host their McPherson Invitational on Thursday, September 22nd at the McPherson Rolling Acres Golf Course.  The teams will competing for the first time since they have traveled to Buhler’s Invitational last week. The teams will be lacing up their shoes on Thursday at 4:30 to start the races.

In the final wrap up until the McPherson Invitational, the boys cross country team placed eighth in the Buhler Invitational with quite a few top finishers. Seniors Chris Kirchner (31st) and Paxton Leaf (26th) are taking this season head on and giving it everything they’ve got. While, other top placers include sophomore Tyler Timson (33rd) and Isaiah Moyer (50th).

The girls also opened their season with a bright beginning. Traveling with the boys to Buhler last week, the girls placed eighth as a team and had several top individual finishers including sophomores Katie Bahr (38th), Maggie Leaf (39th), and Mary Ann Wurm (44th).

McPherson will be going head to head with Buhler, El Dorado, Hays, Hutchinson, Maize, Maize South, and Salina South at the McPherson Invitational. Races will begin on Thursday 22nd at 4:30 at the McPherson Rolling Acres.
